About the Elsenburg Agricultural Training Institute (EATI)
The EATI was established in 1898 and became the first location for agricultural study and training in Southern Africa. The institute has a proven track record in contributing to advancements to the agricultural sector through training and development programmes. To this end, it still operates as a center of excellence in agricultural training.
Graduates who enter the agricultural sector can benefit their communities too, which will build a stronger society with greater knowledge and established food security. In addition to its formal courses, EATI also offers short courses to commercial, small scale and emerging farmers. The institute gives importance to the improvement and sustainability of the current agriculture in South Africa, especially in Western Cape. The institution that funds these bursaries give preference to:
