Job Description

The GRV Clerk is responsible for assisting in stock management, tracking of stock with suppliers, working in accordance to Netcare Stock Management policy. The GRV Clerk should also be able to function in other jobs within the CPD department in the absence of colleagues.

 

Responsibilities

The duties of the post include the following but not limited to:

  • Placing of surgical and ethical orders via appropriate method according to Netcare Stock Management policy
  • Effective application of Netcare policy for approved and standardised suppliers
  • Tracking of stock with suppliers/couriers to ensure timeous receipt of product
  • Management and liaison of back order situations
  • Manage associated administrative tasks
  • Effectively communicate to assist Stock Controllers, Pharmacy Clerk and Pharmacists with regards to ethical and surgical stock
  • Assist in management of stock in accordance to Netcare Stock Management policy with special emphasis on designated stock areas
    Involved in all aspects of cyclical and full stock take processes
  • Arranging in-service training for surgical and ethical products
  • Sourcing ethical and surgical stock from other pharmacies when stock unavailable at wholesalers
  • Managing relevant reports on a weekly basis to ensure all stock that has been ordered is captured on the electronic system
  • To assist in bar-coding of surgical stock
  • Working knowledge of all other job functions within the CPD department in the absence of colleagues
  • Any other duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager/Stock Controller

 

Requirements

  • Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent certificate
  • Computer literate with SAP knowledge would be advantageous
  • Previous private hospital experience
  • Experience in GRV processes would be advantageous
  • Stock control experience would be preferable
  • Knowledge of surgical and ethical stock products

Competencies

  • Sound knowledge of in-house computer system
  • Sound knowledge of stock control system
  • Sound knowledge of surgical and pharmaceutical products
  • Full command of English language
  • Able to work under pressure able to function independently
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills
  • Security minded and aware of stock value being handled

Duties schedules:
 Flexibility of duty time to suit departmental needs according to departmental roster
 Availability for overtime when necessary
