Overview	The successful person will be responsible for all electrical maintenance activities at BME’s Dryden plant and when required be available to assist with mechanical activities. The successful incumbent will have to reside closer to the place of work to be able to be on time for call outs and standby’s as and when required by the business.
Qualifications	Grade 12 or equivalent Artisan (Trade Test)
Experience	• 3 years demonstrated experience in plant maintenance • 2 years demonstrated experience in maintenance within a production/ explosive’s environment
Duties	o Responsible for all daily routine equipment inspections. o Responsible for installing and commissioning of small projects. o Carry out all planned maintenance schedules for the plant in liaison with all stakeholders. o Provide support to production to ensure that all maintenance work is consistent and of a high quality. o Reduce plant stoppages, breakdowns. o Ensure the highest level of workmanship is maintained when maintaining critical equipment. o Attend to all breakdowns and callouts (Standby duties apply) o Adhere to safety standards and procedures o Maintenance of PLC’s and field instrumentation (Level, pressure, temperature and flow) o Occasionally assist with mechanical work when necessary.
Job Competencies	• Knowledge in Delta V plant control systems. • Mechanical ability • Trouble shooting (Fault finding) • Extensive knowledge in the maintenance of VFD’s general plant switchgear, process machinery including pumps, compressors and boilers. • Knowledge of PLC’s and field instrumentation • Knowledge of the SANS 10142 electrical regulations • Proficiency in MS office • Good planning and organizational skills • Good analytical skills • Attention to detail • Knowledge of ERP systems • Communication skills written and verbal • Safety Conscious • Quality Conscious • Self-motivated, driven and tenacious
