Position Purpose:
To provide assurance to the Transnet Corporate environment, by ensuring that risk management is proactively applied and embedded into business processes. To drive the desired behaviour and provides a sound decision making framework.
Position outputs:
#Management of the Group Assets Insurance Programme including Aviation and Marine
#Management of the Annual Insurance Renewal
#Underwriting Risk surveys
#Align insurance with risk targets and Transnet business strategy
#Review, benchmark and implement insurance and risk best practices to enhance business effectiveness and efficiencies
#Review and update insurance policies, processes and procedures
#Overseeing company insurance by way of implementing systems, procedures and operational methodologies by ensuring

Insurance is most optimally effected, and that the losses to the company are minimized
#Monitor service providers to ensure compliance with Service Level Agreements and Master Agreements
Position Challenges
# Limited / no knowledge of Transnet environment especially the Operations.
#Limited / no knowledge of the insurance industry and the relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.
#Limited understanding of the Transnet insurance programme (4 portfolios managed by more than one broker firm).
Inability to build relationships, partnerships and networks with relevant stakeholders (both internally and externally).

#The incumbent is required to operate within the policies and procedures of Transnet as well as relevant regulation and
legislation
#The incumbent is required to exercise judgement and discretion in decision making within the approved #Delegation of

Qualifications & Experience:
#Relevant Bachelor’s Degree (NQF 7)
#Minimum 6-8 years’ applicable experience in a large enterprise of which at least 3 years at managerial level
