Job Description

We are looking for cashiers that can provide a positive customer experience with fair, friendly, and courteous service.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
Processing payments through our system through debit cards, cash and credit card transactions.

 

Responsibilities

  • Registers sales on a cash register by scanning items, itemizing and totalling customers’ purchases.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions.
  • Bags purchases if needed.
  • Processes return transactions.
  • Cash up daily takings and balance float.
  • Take payments for retail Invoicing and issue receipts
  • Record all incorrect invoices in necessary book or on correct forms, giving reasons.
  • Effectively and efficiently deliver customer service.
  • Effectively manage time and utilize quiet periods to assist with admin and filing.
  • Collect cash and credit card payments from customers and record accurately
  • Deal with returns as necessary if customer re-purchased
  • Maintain cash control over register drawer and verify amounts are correct.
  • Mark banking (cash/cc/eft/credit) every morning
  • Complete change request sheet for change from bank
  • Sign customers up for Loyalty cards (End User)
  • Redeem and assist customers with loyalty card credits.
  • Assist with finding reasons for Overs/Unders in the Cash up daily.
  • Stock taking
  • Client Service
  • Housekeeping of workstation
  • Assisting in retail store as and when required

 

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years in related retail cashier experience
  • Computer literacy
  • Preferably bilingual in English, and Afrikaans
  • Reside in or around Milnerton area
  • A stable work record, and have contactable references
  • Matric Certificate
  • A willingness to represent the Company in a responsible manner, promoting and maintaining a professional image at all times
  • Appearing well presented and neat
  • Customer focused with the desire to provide a complete “end-to-end” service by going the extra mile

Please note
You will be required to work Retail Hours:
Monday to Thursday 07h30 – 17h00 and Fridays until 16h30
Saturdays (per roster schedule) and Public Holidays if required
