Introduction

Our client based all over Gauteng is looking for qualified Bartenders, Waiters, Waitresses and Kitchen Staff with at least 3 years working experience in the position with contactable references.

The position is a temp to go permanent position, depending on performance.

This role will be responsible for all aspects of customer service, venue presentation and standards of services.

The venue’s is open 7 days a week, and the successful candidates must be willing to working shifts.

Duties & Responsibilities

Barman:

The day to day operations of the bar required by this role include rostering and training of casual staff, stocktake and ordering, general bar upkeep and presentation. You will be responsible for customer service with support from casual bar staff. On a monthly basis you will produce sales reports and liaise with management to constantly improve levels of service.

Waitresses / Waiters

Greet and escort customers to their tables

Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (eg. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies.

Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses.

Inform customers about the days specials

Offer menu recommendations upon requests

Up-sell additional products when appropriate

Take accurate food and drinks orders

Communicate orders to the Kitchen staff

Serve drink and food orders

Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems

Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area

Deliver checks and collect bill payments

Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchenfor cleaning

Provide excellent customer service to guests

Kitchen Staff

Cleaning all dishes, work stations, cooking equipment, and food storage areas in accordance with food safety regulations.

Washing, chopping, shredding, and grating ingredients for subsequent use by the chef.

Sweeping and mopping floors, as required.

Assisting with the unloading of deliveries.

Storing ingredients according to prescribed food safety regulations.

Assisting with the monitoring of inventory.

Reporting all damaged or faulty equipment to the kitchen manager.

Packaging customers’ leftover food upon request.

Cleaning trash cans and disposing refuse on a regular basis.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Barman

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

Passion to provide exceptional customer service

The ability to address urgent customer needs with a postitive perspective and creative problem solving

Organisational skills and good time management

Lead by example, be self-motivated, proactively solve problems and take pride in your work

Thrive in a fast paced, creative environment

Minimum 2 years experience in bartending and hospitality

Experience in purchase ordering and inventory control

Waiters / Waitresses

Proven work experience as a Waiter or Waitress

Hands-on experience with cash register and ordering information system

Basic math skills

Attentivness and patience for customers

Excellent presentation skills

Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well in a fast paced environment

Active listening and effective communication skills

Team spirit

Flexibility to work shifts

Matric; food and safety training is a plus

Kitchen Staff

High school diploma or equivalent.

Prior experience in a similar position.

Thorough knowledge of food safety procedures.

Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.

Outstanding interpersonal skills.

Ability to lift up to 50 kg’s.

Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to work shifts, over weekends, and on public holidays, as needed.
