To Provide dynamic communications support in TPT Pier 1 and focus on projecting a positive and Professional image of the department to the mutual benefit of all stakeholders.

Position outputs:

  1. Ensure internal Communication of Transnet & TPT growth strategy through optimum utilization of platforms e.g.
  2. Internal exhibitions
  3. Internal newsletters
  4. General Manager & Terminal Manager Roadshows etc.
  5. Ops brief
  6. Plasma Screens
  • Implement a distinct brand in the terminal environment by ensuring compliance to Cl guidelines and successful implementation of Transnet culture and values, living the charter campaign & embedded process
  • Develop and implement a communication plan that supports the terminal’s business initiatives, namely:
  • Improved efficiencies
  • Improved productivity
  • Cost management
  • Safety
  • Customer relations & communication
  • Environment compliance
  • Drive recognition and reward program in the terminal through successful implementation of Recognition and Reward Scheme.
  • Assist in building and managing the terminal reputation through generating positive publicity and Corporate Social Investment.
  • Assist in implementing external stakeholder engagement program through delivery on TPT stakeholder Relationship Management.
  • Facilitate internal stakeholder engagement programs through maximum utilization of engagement platforms, e.g.:
  • Women’s day & forum
  • Secretary’s day
  • Family fun day
  • Internal Safety League
  • Long service awards & year-end function 8.Manage internal communications budget

9.Provide efficient management of TPT PE Organizational communication tools (Publication, LCD Screens & branding)

Qualifications, Experience & Inherent Job Requirements

  • 3 Year Diploma in Communications/Public Relations)
  • Computer literacy (MS Package)
  • Valid Code EC drivers’ licence

Minimum Years Relevant Experience:

  • 2 to 3 years

Job Evaluation criteria:

  • Minimum of 5 Years’ Experience with Applicable Bachelor’s Degree/National Higher Diploma Years of Experience with a formal qualification:
  • Min 4 years’ relevant experience in a large enterprise, preferably with 1 yr supervisory or specialist experience

Typical Qualifications:

  • Relevant B-degree or B. Tech National/Advanced Diploma (NQF 6/7)
  • Transnet leadership Development Programme (advantage)

Number of years with certificates or no formal qualification:

  • 8 Years relevant and solid experience in taking accountability for the operation of own work area or as member of a team, concerning the quality, standards and outputs related to defined work procedures with at least 2 yrs at supervisory level or specialist experience
