Katberg Mountain Resort & Hotel is looking for an assistant manager/manager to be hands-on, in the tranquil Winterberg mountains in the Eastern Cape. Successful individuals who demonstrate a blend of talent and skills such as outstanding intellectual ability, strong analytical skills, imagination and creativity. Attributes such as social aptitude, leadership, curiosity and maturity, strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills and integrity are key aspects to a successful application with the company.

Ideally, a candidate who is capable of working under pressure with the ability to identify and focus on priorities and think on their feet.Implementation of operating procedures for specific departments for successful resort operation.Previous experience in implementing policies and procedures.HR, to be able to manage staff and do disciplinaries when required.High-performing team player with passion, energy, and a track record and always going the extra mile.

Leadership skills include skills transfer, motivating, mentoring, and capacity building. A proven track record of successful Hotel / Resort experience, preferably in a senior supervisory position will be advantageous. Willing to work in a high-demand service environment in order to deliver short-notice requests from guests, staff, and management; this challenging role demands being on call around the clock, seven days a week, regardless of weekends and Public Holidays.

Professional, resourceful, responsible, smart and independent – with a natural instinct to be a wonderful sociable host. Valid driver’s licenses.5 years’ experience in the tourism industry will be advantageous. Business-level fluency in English and fluency in indigenous languages (Xhosa) will be advantageous. Financial and administrative skills and experience will be required. Food and Beverage background will be required.A relevant tertiary qualification is pertinent to either management or hospitality.

Proven record of outstanding staff relations as well as the ability to do roster scheduling and deal with staff matters.Proven leadership skillsComputer literate ( Microsoft Word, Excel & PowerPoint, Cimso hospitality software)
