SANRAL 2023/2024 Bursary Programme: Empowering South African Students
The South African National Roads Agency SOC Limited (SANRAL) is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2023/2024 Bursary Programme, aimed at providing support to South African students pursuing their dreams in various fields of study.
Fields of Study:
SANRAL offers bursaries for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate studies in the following fields:
- Civil Engineering
- Human Resources
- Supply Chain Management
Eligibility Requirements:
To be considered for the SANRAL Bursary Programme, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a South African citizen.
- Be under 35 years of age.
- Have completed Matric or be currently enrolled in Matric.
- Be enrolled or accepted for full-time undergraduate or postgraduate studies in one of the specified fields (please note that part-time or distance learning programs are not covered).
- Be studying or accepted at a recognized and accredited public tertiary institution in South Africa (private institutions are not covered).
- Meet the academic requirements for the chosen qualification.
- Matric students must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70%.
- University students must have achieved a minimum overall average of 60%.
- Demonstrate financial need.
- Not be currently receiving any other bursary funding.
- Students with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
Bursary Coverage:
SANRAL offers both full and partial bursaries, depending on the student’s financial need. The bursary covers the following expenses:
Full Bursary:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
- Study materials and equipment
- Accommodation
- Meals
Partial Bursary:
- Registration fees
- Tuition fees
- Accommodation
- Access to the wellness programme
The specific type of bursary awarded, whether full or partial, will be determined through a Means test, which calculates the level of financial assistance required. Depending on the test results, a family contribution may be necessary.
Selection Criteria:
Scholarship recipients will be chosen based on the following main criteria:
- Academic performance
- Financial need (assessed in accordance with SANRAL’s Bursary Policy)
- Additional applicable conditions considered by SANRAL in the final selection process
