Who are we looking forWe are looking for a training officer who will be responsible for identifying and assessing training needs, creating tailored training plans and implementing various training methods to enhance employees’ skills and performance. This person will monitor training programme effectiveness, manage budgets and stay updated on training trends.

What will you do:

  • Work in partnership with the business units to fully understand the key business drivers and needs of current and future training challenges
  • Assess training needs through surveys, interviews, focus groups, or consultation with employees, managers and team leaders
  • Prepare the training strategy and the full training plan each year
  • Identification of training needs analysis; updating training matrix and skills audits
  • Oversee the skills development processes to ensure that the company complies with the sector education training authorities
  • Compilation and submission of the workplace skills plan and annual training record and SETA compliance
  • Responsible for the learnership programme including administration
  • Provide high quality training to all employees
  • Coach and support learners
  • To assist in the acquisition and maintenance of skills within the department and organisation
  • To maintain effective communication with employees and to establish training needs
  • To evaluate the effectiveness of training and modify materials as appropriate
  • To develop and maintain training material to the highest standards for internal and external courses
  • To ensure that training materials are appropriate to the company’s requirements
  • Up-skill, multi-skill and cross-skill all employees
  • Develop and organise training manuals, multimedia visual aids and other educational materials
  • Conduct or arrange for on-going technical training and personal development for all employees
  • Conduct orientation sessions and arrange on-the job training for new hires
  • Create or arrange assessment and evaluation processes
  • Prepare and implement training programs within the training budget
  • Responsible for the training budget
  • Conduct KPI and assessment meetings, feedback sessions with employees and line manager
  • Organise conferences and workshops with accredited service providers
  • Manage and drive OD interventions as to positively impact morale, motivation and engagement in collaboration with group HR standards and procedures
  • Assist and support managers in the monitoring, review and management of the probationary period of staff

What you need:

  • Degree or diploma
  • Accredited skills development facilitator
  • Budget management
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
