Broll is a leading provider of integrated facilities management services, known for overseeing and directing accounting functions with precision. We are seeking an experienced Accountant to join our team and contribute to maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations.

Job Description:

The Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and directing accounting functions on an operational level. This includes managing general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, fixed asset and cost accounting. The role involves analyzing and reconciling detailed general ledger accounts, resolving discrepancies, and preparing financial reports.

Essential Functions and Basic Duties:

  • Accounting Functions:
    • Oversee and complete assigned accounting functions accurately and timely.
    • Review monthly financial reports and working paper files.
    • Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain classified records.
    • Prepare journal entries and balance work in complex accounting areas.
  • Reporting and Analysis:
    • Prepare trial balances, balance sheets, income statements, and notes to reports.
    • Participate in annual audits and balance intercompany loan accounts.
    • Maintain Shareholders Loan Schedules and review creditor payments.
    • Prepare and review budgets, forecasts, and financial variance analysis.
  • Communication and Coordination:
    • Research and resolve accounting errors and discrepancies.
    • Maintain effective communication with operations and property managers.
    • Ensure clients are informed and company reputation is upheld.
    • Participate in meetings and complete special projects as needed.

Performance Measurements:

  • Accuracy and timeliness of accounting documents, records, and reports.
  • Prompt resolution of accounting errors or discrepancies.
  • Effective communication and support with company personnel.
  • Adherence to established accounting standards, policies, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Education/Certification:
    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Required Knowledge:
    • Technical knowledge of accounting concepts, practices, procedures, and financial reports.
    • Understanding of related regulations, statutes, and filing requirements.
    • Knowledge of accounting software and computer applications.
  • Experience Required:
    • Three or more years of previous property accounting experience preferred.
    • JV Accounting experience will be beneficial.
  • Skills/Abilities:
    • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
    • Good math skills and strong attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in PC, calculator, Excel, and other business mechanisms.
    • Strong analytical skills and ability to work under pressure.
