TRAFFIC GUARD
SHORT TERM CONTRACT
The City of Johannesburg (CoJ) Public Safety Department (JMPD) has the following brief
term contract opportunities for a period NOT greater than eighteen (18) months.
DEPARTMENT: Public Safety
BRANCH: JMPD
DESIGNATION: EPWP Traffic Warden
REMUNERATION: R3 800pm (without benefits)
LOCATION: 22 Village Road, Wemmer Complex
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
• Grade 12 and driver license will be advantage
• Will be trained as Traffic Watchman
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Patrol an assigned area for general law enforcement
and order in the terms of the National Road Traffic Law, CdJ Regulations.
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
• Assist in the prevention of Crime and Maintain Law and Order to ensure the Enforcement of
Duties based on the Batho Pele Principles.
• Enforce and execute the provisions established in the National Road Traffic Law, the CoJ Statutes for
ensure the Provision of Public Security Services based on the Batho Pele Principles.
• Participate in community-related services to ensure the delivery of public safety services based on
on the Batho Pele Principles.
• Assist in the execution of crime prevention functions to ensure the delivery of public safety based on
