Job Advert Summary | PURPOSE: • To perform the functions of the employer with regards to the Mine Health and Safety Act in the mining department and surrounding stakeholders. • To implement and maintain a compliant, safe and productive working environment whilst working within budget constraints and legislation. MAJOR CHALLENGES: • Ensuring effective teamwork across all disciplines within Business Unit. • Managing production and maintaining safety outputs within a strict legislative and highly regulated environment. • Ensuring and maintaining competency of subordinates. |
Minimum Requirements | QUALIFICATIONS: BEng Mining Engineering (Essential/Minimum) Mine Managers Certificate of Competence (Essential/Minimum) Management Development Programme (Essential/Minimum) Master of Business Administration (Recommended/Desirable)EXPERIENCE: 10 years Relevant experience within a heavy industry, mining or production environment. Duties & Responsibilities | POSITION OUTPUTS: The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:Compliance, Governance and Assurance • Comply with Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC) and technical requirements, in line with plant and mine targets • Execute SHEC programs and ensure adherence to all relevant mine surveying and statutory mine plans with regards to Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)/Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA)/Mining Titles Registration Act (MTRA) and National Water Act (NWA) • Monitor, identify and respond to defects and sub-standard equipment performance and other improvement opportunities Customer and Client Relationship Management Effective People Management Financial Management Process Optimisation Project Management Safe and Healthy Work Environment Strategy Management Behavioural Alignment |
