Henley Africa has various scholarship programmes in place to encourage students to take up business-related courses. Henley Africa Sol Plaatje Media Scholarship is one of them. Named after renowned South African journalist and intellectual and founder of African National Congress, Sol Plaatje, it is meant for current journalists who want to take up MBA at Henley Africa.

The programme was launched in 2019. In the inaugural edition, the two recipients were Pauli van Wyk, an investigative journalist, and Thabiso Thakali, the executive editor at Sowetan.

For the academic session 2022-23, Henley Africa is inviting crusading and fearless journalists to apply for the scholarship programme. The recipients will get to pursue education on the campus and graduate with a prestigious executive MBA degree from Henley.

Students will learn unique approaches and methodologies of modern journalism during the course. It will help them evolve and grow as a journalist.

Eligibility Criteria For The Scholarship

• South African citizen
• Journalist by profession
• In possession of a journalist qualification issued by an accredited university
• Must have strong work ethics as a journalist
• Fulfill all the eligibility criteria of the Executive MBA programme of Henley
