Requirements

Minimum requirement:

  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills.

Experience:

  • Appropriate experience in a health related environment.

Inherent requirements of the job:

  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
  • Ability to perform tasks such as lifting patient’s from/onto beds, trolleys and wheelchairs.
  • Must be of sober habits.

Competencies (knowledge/skills):

  • Ability to speak in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Willingness to work in a team.

Duties (key result areas/outputs):

  • Safely transport patients on trolleys and wheelchairs within various areas in the hospital.
  • Assist with shifting of medical equipment.
  • Ensure cleaning of wheelchairs and trolleys.
  • Assist with the removal of bodies from wards and perform relevant duties.
  • Assist with ambulatory patients as well as greeting and directing patients to various areas
  •  in the hospital.
  • Collect NHLS samples and bloods for cross match samples from the wards.
  • Render supportive service to supervisor.
