Introduction

A vacancy has arisen for a Housekeeping Assistant at Life St Dominics Hospital, reporting to the Services Manager, Bercoline Janneker. The incumbent will be responsible to support the strategic objectives of the Hospital business plan through optimal management of all the Services Department responsibilities. This job includes the following outputs:

Critical Outputs

On the floor and hands-on coordination of laundry operations which includes the following:

  • Linen supply to and from the hospital –inclusive of audits and stock takes
  • Counting and sorting of linen
  • Accurate record keeping of linen items according to standard procedure
  • Processing of linen in designated areas
  • Quality and stock management
  • Liaison with respective role players including Management
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards
  • Facilitation of effective ISO 14001 and ISO 9001 standards –Health, Safety & Environmental

Requirements

  • NQF 4 qualifications or Matric
  • Understand, speak, read and write English language
  • Ability to count accurately
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure
  • Good interpersonal relations
  • Computer experience
  • 1 years’ experience working in a hospital environment -advantageous
