Learner Support Agent (100 POSTS)

Limpopo Provincial Government is looking for 100 Learner support Agents and 20 Social Worker to assist various schools of Limpopo that will be attached below.

Reference: S3/1/1/1

Period: Six (06) Months Fixed-term contract

Work Station: Idrnyified High Burden Public Secondary/ELSEN schools in Limpopo (Annexure A)

Requirements : 

A National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) and a recognized Diploma in Community Development or Social Auxiliary Social Work. A degree in the same field as recognized by SAQA will serve as an added advantage. Current registration with the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP)

Skill and Competencies:

Good writing skills that will enable the incumbent to compile reports. Good communication, listening, and problem-solving skills. Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook (for work-related purposes). Ability to work with learners, educators, and stakeholders. ability to work individually and as a team.

Duties:

Provide emotional support for vulnerable learners. Keep updated records of vulnerable learners. Accompany learners to access social welfare services. assist learners with homework especially those from Child and Granny headed families. Facilitate peer education activities. Organize with educators and School-Based SupportTeams (SBST’s) on commemorative events in school calendar events related to HIV/AIDS, TB and COVID 19 prevention. Establish and Manage networks with local stakeholders that support the provision of care and support for learners. Provide support to pregnant learners, those who are sick or missed school by taking schoolwork to their homes. Develop and submit monthly and quarterly reports to the school principal and District Learner Support Agent Supervisor. Provide support to the other counselling needs within the circuit.
