Position Title: Fitter

Position Type: Regular

Requisition ID: 1820

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the position of Fitter to be based at the McCain Springs Plant, Gauteng. The successful candidate will report to the Stores and Services Superintendent.


PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To maintain plant equipment in good operational condition, to ensure at least 98% plant availability, equipment function at the desired line rate and meet food quality standards.


KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

  • SAFETY:

Work to McCain Safety standards and Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR) objectives, 5S and BOS compliance.

  • QUALITY:

Work to McCain Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards, reduce foreign material incidents.

  • DELIVERY:

At least 98% availability of equipment, schedule compliance, artisan utilization as agreed. Service Coldroom doors. Service effluent pumps & service of coal boiler.

  • COST:

Draw and record spares and breakdown details through SAP.

  • PEOPLE:

Ensure compliance to McCain’s values which are Authenticity, Committed, Trust, Family and Be Good Do Good.

  • ENVIRONMENT:

Protect environment and assist in achieving water, coal and electricity targets.


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Red Seal Fitter
  • Refrigerant – Category B will be an added advantage.
  • 5 Years’ experience as a refrigeration fitter in an FMCG environment,
  • Experience in surge tanks, industrial refrigeration systems, pumps and compressors.
  • Basic knowledge of SANS 10147, PER 734.


LEGAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • None apart from a trade test.#LI-SAF1
