A leading manufacturing company has an opportunity for a mechanical fitter apprenticeship to start in January 2021! Applicants that are applying be sure that you have completed your N2 or N3 in Mechanical Engineering with your certificates at hand. January 2021 start!

POSITION : MECHANICAL FITTER APPRENTICE
AREA : OUTER WESTERN SUBURBS, KZN
SALARY : R 4 000.00

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completed Matric certificate
• Must have a completed N2 OR N3 Mechanical Engineering
• Good understanding of factory utility layouts (electrical and water reticulation, compressed air systems, and process water plant)
• Knowledge of condition monitoring (electrical and water reticulation, compressed air systems and process water plant)
• Knowledge of OSHACT
• Knowledge of shut down maintenance
• Working knowledge of robotics
• Knowledge of Bearings and lubrication
• Welding, cutting and grinding experience
• Knowledge of Pneumatics, pumps, transmission systems and general mechanics

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Tasks will include, but are not limited to:
The successful candidate will work under supervision and will be expected to perform the following duties throughout the Apprentice period:

• • Identify, verify and analyse reasons for downtime through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions to repair the fault in order to ensure timeous resumption of production
  • Inspections on running machinery and equipment
  • Adherence to the maintenance schedule
  • Adherence to all safety rules and regulations by all personnel and contractors on site to ensure a safe working environment
  • The training opportunity will include the following:
  • All trade related training
  • On the job training
  • Practical training and theoretical training
