About Naspers

Naspers is a multinational holding company based out of Cape Town, South Africa, that has investments in high-performing internet assets. It owns shares of major online publishers, retailers, and companies involved in the consumer internet sector.

Publicly traded at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange, Naspers is currently one of the valuable companies in the market.

Under the parent brand Naspers, there are four companies — three of which are wholly-owned subsidiaries. Those are Takealot.com, Media24, and Naspers Foundry. The latter is a venture capital fund that invests primarily in the South African internet services market.

Naspers Bursary 2022

The company is offering financial help to students via bursaries. Known as the Naspers Bursaries, these are meant for young black Africans who want to pursue higher studies but face financial hurdles.

For the academic session 2022, the bursaries will be awarded to students who are in the following fields of study:

  • Engineering
  • Science
  • Technology
  • Mathematics
  • Commerce
  • Business Sciences

Funding is available for first-year students through to those studying at the Honours level. They must be academically brilliant.

The bursary amount will be decided on an individual basis. However, the Naspers bursary guarantees to cover the following expenses:

  • Tuition fees for the entire duration of the study
  • Prescribed textbooks expenses
  • Accommodation cost
  • Meals
  • Living allowance

Along with that, first-year students will also receive a laptop from the company free of cost. They will have unrestricted access to the mentorship programmes, career guidance events, workshops, and monthly counselling sessions. All of these will help students join the workforce straight out of college.

The bursary requires the students to be actively involved in supporting local communities and giving back wherever possible.
