Job Advert Summary | This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the largest Retail Chain Stores in South Africa. We are looking for an experienced Pharmacy Assistant who is goal driven. This position will be based at our On Nicol Store in Johannesburg, Sandton. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispensing prescription medication and other medical products to patients under the direction of a licensed pharmacist. Interact with patients in delivering medications and completing other sales transactions. Maintain stock of prescription medications and assist with other administrative related duties in the Pharmacy. |
Minimum Requirements | Post Basic Pharmacy Assistant Qualification Minimum 5 years experience as a Pharmacist assistant preferably in a retail environment Registration with SA Pharmacy Council Matric |
Duties & Responsibilities | Manage and rotate inventory within the pharmacy. Restock medication as needed. Update patient records and profiles. Retrieve and verify prescriptions within the scope of practice. Prepare medication for patients through mixing, counting pills and labeling bottles. Obtain signatures from patients purchasing items regulated by law. Dispensing of medicine under the supervision of the pharmacist. Maintain housekeeping standards in the dispensary. Stock control of both dispensary products and dispensary material (pill boxes and bottles). Assist in ordering of stock, where applicable. Merchandising of pharmacy stock according to dispensary & OTC layout and system. Train other staff members on products. Medical Aid queries and communication. Participate in cyclical counts / monthly P&L / bi-annual stock – takes. Levy Reconciliation COD handling from charge out to the collection of monies. |
