A quick note before you play
Find the safe squares on an 8 × 8 board. Read the numbers and flag ten hidden mines. Start when you are ready. You can restart at any time, and keyboard controls work after you select the game area. On touch screens, use the on-screen controls or tap the board. No score is uploaded, and there is no account to create.
Read the neighboring numbers
Each revealed number counts mines in its eight surrounding squares, including diagonals. An empty square expands into neighboring safe space. The first reveal and its immediate neighbors are protected when mines are placed.
Use flags as working notes
Flags keep suspicious squares closed. On a phone, enable Flag mode, mark squares, then turn it off to reveal again. A flag is your guess, rather than proof that a mine is there. Reveal every safe square to win; placing ten flags alone does not complete the board. Some positions can require a guess.
