SAEC Child of Employee Bursary 2020

South32 will be awarding bursaries to valued members of SAEC’s Child of Employees who intend to study or are already studying post matric. The bursaries will be awarded to students studying within the following mining-related fields of study:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mining Engineering
  • Mine Survey
  • Metallurgy
  • Geology

The bursary will cover the full payment of tuition fees, meals and accommodation expenses, book allowance, laptop, and basic medical aid coverage.

Bursary Requirements and Eligibility

Applicants must qualify in the following minimum requirements prior to applying:

  • South African citizen
  • Completed Matric or currently in Matric
  • Studying within one of the aforementioned fields of study
  • Achieved a minimum of level 6 for Mathematics and Science in Matric (only applies to Engineering and Geology degree students)
  • Proven financial need

Applications must be done online at http://www.careerwise.co.za/applications/. On the website, applicants will be required to register an account and login. Clear copies of the following supporting documentation must also be submitted in order to successfully complete the application process:

  • Valid South African ID
  • Copy of Matric Certificate
  • Academic record or results (if applicable)
  • Brief CV
  • Registration acceptance letter of HET
  • Proof of residence (can either be a copy of municipal utility account or a letter from a Council member of Chief)
