PURPOSE OF THE JOB

To conduct SHEQ and ISO inspections, administer the plant SHEQ processes, facilitate SHEQ systems management and compliance within the plant and to report on findings and corrective actions

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

  • Utilise the Information Management System and IMS to analyse, identify trends, initiate, mitigate, investigate and report SHEQ status.
  • Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox)
  • Adhere to all related SOP’s, PTO’s and CTO’s as per Training Matrix per position, SHEQ
  • Facilitate SHEQ compliance within allocated sections

CUSTOMERS

  • Ensure Customer Satisfaction

BUSINESS PROCESSES

  • Generate SHEQ Near Miss Reports
  • Facilitate Incident Investigations
  • Facilitate Management of Change (MOC’s)
  • Facilitate 5S program within the plant
  • Monitor the Fire Fighting equipment
  • Conduct SHEQ Inspections
  • Conduct ISO layered Audits
  • Collate & report SHEQ statistics
  • Facilitate and ensure compliance to Samancor and MFC SHEQ systems, standards, procedures and requirements
  • Schedule SHEQ Interventions and SHEQ Drills
  • Monitor Job Observations and unsafe acts
  • Monitor and facilitate behavioural observations
  • Monitoring of implementation of corrective and preventative actions
  • Monitor activities of contractors on site
  • Coordination and auditing of systems to ensure compliance of applicable legislation and internal requirements
  • Facilitation of a Safety & Health Programme in the plant
  • Project work
  • Conduct Shutdown Planning
  • Conduct Safety Training
  • Conduct Standby
  • Conduct periodical Overtime
  • Good working knowledge of Occupational Safety Acts and regulations
  • Proof of successful implementation and maintenance of a Safety & Health Programme
  • Ensure Safety Systems knowledge, facilitation and compliance in plant
  • Work on SAP FILO as and when required
  • Act in a higher level as and when required

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • National Diploma Safety Management or equivalent
  • Computer Literacy (MS Office)
  • Three years relevant experience in a heavy industrial environment
  • Driver`s license (Code 8/B)
