The SPAR Group Ltd, is recruiting for a Retail Systems Consultant at its Distribution Centre.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Based in Middelburg/Witbank, the purpose of the position is to improve the overall usage and expertise of SPAR Group approved systems at Retail, while also ensuring that third party technology suppliers standards are in place, in order to gain maximum advantage of the information technology systems installed within the region.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Improve overall Information Technology usage in key defined areas at stores
  • Analyse and interpret predefined system reports at retail with a view to increasing efficiencies and reducing loss/waste
  • Provide usage specific training to Retailers and Operators instore
  • Oversee all IT calls logged for the allocated stores and escalate/investigate out of SLA calls
  • Manage IT supplier relationships and ensure that Group standards are maintained at retail
  • Project-manage all system upgrades, rollouts and store openings
  • Manage IT project work at retail according to set timelines
  • Implement and maintain existing and new system standards in SPAR stores
  • Complete system audits at retail, implement and monitor systems standards checklists instore
  • Attend timeously to all administration and call logging tasks to ensure accuracy of information to allocated stores

Desired Experience and Qualification

  • Matric or equivalent qualification
  • Diploma/Business Management/Degree in related field
  • Thorough working knowledge of Servers/Networking/Desktop operating systems and Microsoft Office, specifically Excel
  • Project management/training skills
  • Comprehensive FMCG Retail business knowledge in a supervisory/management role
  • Valid driver’s license and be able to drive
  • Good communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work unsupervised directly with customers and perform change management
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
  • Ability to travel long distances and spend time away from home when required
  • Willing to work after hours and weekends when required
  • Customer relations in field support experience advantageous
  • Accounting experience with Pastel Evolution suite advantageous
  • Knowledge of SPAR Group Retail Systems (SIGMA and dStore) advantageous
  • Working knowledge on MSSQL Databases
