Toyota SA is calling on qualified and deserving students who are looking to qualify for bursary support in order to further their tertiary education. Established for the purpose of supporting communities particularly potential talents who demonstrate the commitment to excellent academic performance. This is also a good opportunity for talented individuals to work for Toyota South Africa through vacation work and possibly exposure to the company’s flagship graduate programme.

Bursary support is awarded to students who are taking up any of the following fields:

  • Informatics or Business Mathematics
  • Industrial Engineering
  • Non-CA Accounting and must include Accounting, Auditing and Management and Taxation
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Mechatronics Engineering
  • Computer Science
  • Business Science Analytics
  • Information Technology

About Toyota Motors South Africa 

As one of Toyota Motor Corporation’s offshore facilities, Toyota South Africa manufactures, builds, distributes and exports vehicles and spare parts for local and international markets. Its current line up of passenger and commercial vehicles include coupes, hatches, sedan, SUVs, MPVs, vans and bakkies.

In addition to offering vehicle spare parts and accessories, TMC South Africa also provides insurance and finance services via its dealers operating all over South Africa. With its headquarters in Sandton, Toyota SA has been operating as a subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation since 4 November 2002.

Toyota South Africa Bursary Requirements or Eligibility

Applications is limited only those who meet the following

  • A South African citizen
  • Demonstrated leadership and academic potential
  • Able to obtain at least a 75% GPA for English and Mathematics in matric (or at least 65% if tertiary average is over 80%)
  • Able to obtain an overall GPA of at least 70% during tertiary
  • Must have a combined annual household income of no more than R75 000

How to Apply and Application Details

  • Applications are submitted and processed on the StudyTrust website
  • Bursary support is applicable for the next school year
  • Prepare the following documents  for submission during the application process:
    • Certified copy of South African ID
    • Comprehensive academic record inclusive of most recently available results leading up to June 2020 exam results
    • Official NSC/Matric grades or Grade 11 results for Grade 12 graduates or
    • June results (if available) for current Grade 12 students
    • A testimonial from an education official
    • Complete CV
    • Passport photo (head to shoulder shot)
    • Proof of income
      • Wage or salary slip of both parents (if applicable)
      • If parents are self-employed or unemployed, an affidavit stating as such (if self-employed, a statement of annual income is required)
      • If parents (or guardian) own a business – recent bank statements from last three months or most recently audited financial statements
      • Letter from SASSA indicating grants received by any household member (if applicable)
      • Death certificate of parents (if applicable)
      • If parents are divorced, include a court letter or affidavit indicating amount of child support
