About the Tsitsikamma Wind Farm Trust

The Tsitsikamma Community Wind Farm (TCWF) is a project owned and developed by Cennergi and is located in the Tsitsikamma area in South Africa. The project has a combined total of 31 wind turbines and has a total capacity of 95 megawatts. Cennergi owns the majority of the project at 75%, Tsitsikamma Development Trust (TDT) and the landowner own 9%, and the rest is under RE Times.

The Tsitsikamma Community Wind Farm Trust was established to empower and improve the quality of life of the communities that are located near the Tsitsikamma Community Wind Farm. They are improving people’s lives within a 50-mile radius from the farm and many more.

Tsitsikamma Wind Farm Trust Bursary 2022

The Tsitsikamma Wind Farm Trust bursary 2022 is being offered to students from the Koukamma, AmaMfengu and Kouga communities or anyone who resides within 50 miles of the Tsitsikamma Community Wind Farm. This bursary is for students who are applying for or are pursuing their undergraduate degree, a certificate programme or a diploma at any institution that fits the below criteria:

  • A public university
  • A Further Education and Training College or Technical and Vocational Education and Training college

Bursary Coverage

The bursary covers the following costs for the selected students:

  • Registration fees
  • Tuition fees
  • Accommodation costs
  • Costs of prescribed study material
  • A stipend

The bursary will be granted to students on a yearly basis, and students are required to submit an application form every year until they complete their qualifications. Note that the academic performance of the student will be taken into account while reviewing the applications every year.

Eligibility Criteria For The Tsitsikamma Wind Farm Trust Bursary

The applicants satisfying the following criteria will be eligible to apply for the Tsitsikamma Wind Farm Trust bursary 2022:

  • The applicant must be a citizen of South Africa.
  • The applicant must be a resident of any one of the following areas:
    • Kouga: Centerton, Noorshoek, Humansdorp, Jeffrey’s Bay (township), Oyster Bay, Rosedale, Pellrus, Westerton and St Francis Bay (township)
    • Koukamma: Clarkson, Kareedouw (township), Kagiso Heights, Katank, Nompumelelo, New Rest, Thornham, Sanddrif, Woodlands and Uitkyk
    • AmaMfengu: Ekuphumleni, Doriskraal, Nuweplaas, Wittekleibosch and Snyklip
  • Applicants must be accepted into or be currently registered at a Public University or TVET/FET College.
  • The student must be studying towards or intend to study for the following – an undergraduate degree, a certificate programme, diploma or a trade skill.
  • The applicants’ parents or guardian’s total income must be under R350 000 per year.
  • The student applying must have completed their Matric.
  • The students re-applying for the bursary must pass at least 75 per cent of their modules in the academic year 2021.

How to Apply For The Tsitsikamma Wind Farm Trust Bursary?

The students eligible to apply for the Tsitsikamma Wind Farm Trust bursary 2022 can fill the application form online. Make sure to read the requirements and submit clear copies of all the documents required along with the application form.

Documents Required

The students who are applying for the bursary must prepare the following documents while submitting the application:

  1. If you are a new applicant:
    • A certified copy of the students’ South African Identity Document (ID).
    • If the student completed their 12th grade before 2020, a copy of the student’s 12th-grade certificate or statement of results is required.
    • If the applicant is doing their 12th grade in 2021, a copy of the student’s 11th-grade results and their most recent 12th-grade results are required.
    • If the applicant is currently enrolled in a tertiary institution, their complete academic record from the university is required.
    • Proof of admission in the form of a letter of provisional acceptance from a college or university is required.
  2. If you are under 18 years of age or are over 18 but dependent on your parent or guardians income:
    • Proof of address in the form of guardian’s municipal bill, affidavit or from the Ward Councillor.
    • Proof of income or a confirmation of the parent or guardians employment status not older than six months. It could be any one of the below options:
      • Payslip
      • Affidavit it unemployed
  • Death certificate if one or both parents are deceased
  • If any of your immediate family members contributing to your household income receive a social grant, a certified and clear copy of the SASSA letter must be submitted.
  • Parents’ bank statements for the past three months

3. If you are a returning beneficiary:

    • Full academic record
    • Proof of income or a confirmation of the parent or guardian’s employment status not older than six months. It could be any one of the below options:
      1. Payslip
      2. Affidavit it unemployed
  • Death certificate if one or both parents are deceased
  • Parents’ bank statements for the past three months.

Closing Date Of The Tsitsikamma Wind Farm Trust Bursary

The closing date of application is 28 January 2022. Applications and all required documents must be submitted on or before the bursary closing date.
