Anglo American: Fitter & Turner Learnership 2021

Our Platinum business mines, processes and refines the entire range of platinum group metals (PGMs): platinum, palladium, rhodium, ruthenium, iridium and osmium. As a Fitter, you will be responsible for managing an Engineering Learner as well as Engineering Assistants.

Your responsibilities will include the repairing of equipment and informing relevant team members of defects noticed as well as reporting on spare parts and time needed to complete assigned tasks.

You will need to posses the ability to understand and advise on technical problems of the equipment and machinery while making sure that you have tested for functionality and safety before returned to production.

This role is in the Engineering department at a C2 level reporting to the Engineering Foreman.

• Grade 10 or Technical Trade Specific N2 (Fitter Trade)
• Certified Competent as Fitter

• Good command of the English language (speak, read and write)
• Must be able to do standby shifts and overtime
• Must be familiar with risk assessments procedures
• Valid Drivers license – Code 08
