POSITION OUTPUTS:
The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:Compliance, Governance and Assurance
• Comply with Safety Health Environment and Community (SHEC) and technical requirements, in line with plant and mine targets
• Execute SHEC programs and ensure adherence to all relevant mine surveying and statutory mine plans with regards to Mine Health and Safety Act (MHSA)/Mineral and Petroleum Resources Development Act (MPRDA)/Mining Titles Registration Act (MTRA) and National Water Act (NWA)
• Monitor, identify and respond to defects and sub-standard equipment performance and other improvement opportunities
Customer and Client Relationship Management
• Support core business by ensuring appropriate stakeholder relationships toward enhancing corporate profile
• Manage internal and external relations, including interface with external providers/other functions to ensure that business needs are met, and employees are satisfied
• Provide relevant support and legislative service to applicable stakeholders
Effective People Management
• Ensure optimised team work through motivation, empowerment and leading by sound transformational leadership
• Promote teamwork, provide support and manage performance by creating and maintaining individual development plans for subordinates
• Oversee recruitment and HR related activities
• Ensure all employees are effectively trained and are competent to perform required duties in a disciplined manner
Financial Management
• Prepare and control department’s annual budget by forecasting Operational Expenditure (OPEX) and monitor expenditure and cash flow
regularly
• Approve relevant contracts and documentation in line with departmental budgetary stipulations
• Ensure continuous improvement exist in cost and production areas
Process Optimisation
• Compile and execute divisional strategy for designated area
• Ensure achievement of business improvement targets
• Ensure optimal utilisation of mining and mineral resources, maximising profitability of current assets through effective formulation and implementation of strategy and objectives
Project Management
• Evaluate and complete projects with minimum risk, within allocated timeframes and according to specified budgetary requirements
• Create and maintain a positive business climate and a high-performance culture, by implementing high performance-culture principles and practices
Safe and Healthy Work Environment
• Maintain and ensure a healthy environment and safe operations practices
• Ensure compliance with all applicable Safety Health and Environment (SHE) policies and procedures in line with set standards
• Encourage a culture that focuses on safety in all operations
Strategy Management
• Ensure that business plan contributes to overall success of the Compan
• Optimal utilisation of mining and mineral resources
