Fraser Alexander is a leading supplier of Mining services which include: Minerals Processing, Construction and Tailings. A solid and well respected brand in the mining services area is looking to attract key talents to add to its existing pool of highly sought after professionals.

This position exists to ensure safe installation and maintenance and repairs of all mechanical equipment i.e. crusher/gearboxes/pumps etc.

The incumbent will assume total responsibility for:

Health and Safety

Display safety conduct at all time by wearing the correct PPE

Attend pre-shift meetings

Report unsafe conditions and -behavior

Adhere to FA and client policies and procedures

Always behave safe

Maintenance Services

Implement maintenance schedules

Maintainsrepairs all mechanical equipment(pumps/screens/crushers/gear boxes etc

Conduct plant inspection on all key mechanical equipment

Identifies and prioritise equipment in need of maintenance/repairs

Plan for material and men to assist

Informs foreman

Do risk assessment/study procedures

Do repairs/maintenance

QUALIFICATIONS

Matric /N3 – Mechanical engineering subjects

Trade test-fitter – MQA/MERSETA preferred

EXPERIENCE

2 year Learnership/Apprentice in Mining or Construction

Basic exposure to maintenance of general plant equipment (Strong and divers machining ability is a requirement)

SKILLS, QUALITIES and ABILITIES REQUIRED

Basic understanding of planned maintenance documentation and procedures

Knowledge of unsafe behaviour-what does it mean

Understand what constitutes unsafe conditions and –behavior
