About Canyon Coal

Canyon Coal is a South African coal exploration and mining company. It operates nationally in areas mining areas like Gauteng and Mpumalanga. Along with that, it has several exploration projects across South Africa. Annually, the mining company produces about 2.5 MT of coal from the following collieries:

• Hakhano Colliery
• Singani Colliery
• Khanye Colliery
• Phalanndwa Colliery

Of all the opencast mines, Hakhano Colliery, located in Mpumalanga, produces 40,000 tons of ROM per month. Similarly, the Singani Colliery produces about 140,000 tons every month. Canyon Coal Khanye Colliery Bursary 2022

The Canyon Coal Khanye Colliery Bursary is meant for students living in the Bronkhorspruit area, Gauteng, where the Khanye Colliery is located.

Applicants from other surrounding areas may also be considered.

For the academic session 2022, the bursaries will be awarded in the following fields of study:

• Electrical Engineering
• Mining Engineering
• Metallurgy

There is one bursary for each field of study or three bursaries in total.

The value of the bursary varies from applicant to applicant and will depend on the financial need. The bursary provider will calculate the need by considering tuition fees, registration fees, and other costs incurred while studying.

More details regarding the value will be communicated to shortlisted candidates. You will receive an email within 30 days of the closing date. If you didn’t receive anything, consider your application unsuccessful.

Eligibility Criteria For The Khanye Colliery Bursary

The final selection is at the discretion of Canyon Coal internal committee. The list of bursars announced by them will be considered final.
