Job Description

We are seeking Professional Cost Managers/ Quantity Surveyors at junior and senior levels to join our dynamic growing team in Johannesburg, over the next 6 months, and thus this is a pipeline role*.

The ideal individual should have a strong background in cost management, feasibilities, commercial controls, cost estimation, financial reporting, and contractual compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
 

Key Responsibilities:

Cost Planning & Estimation: 

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and Bills of Quantities (BoQ) where needed. Experience in CostX is advantageous.
  • Provide detailed feasibility studies for a wide range of Real Estate projects and accurate  cost advice throughout the design, implement and construction phases.

Contract Admin, Tendering & Procurement:

  • Manage tender processes, including preparation of prequalification, tender lists, tender documents and evaluation of bids. Experience in PPP projects advantageous
  • Negotiate with contractors, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure competitive pricing and value for money
  • Experience with JBCC / FIDIC / GCC advantageous
  • Administer cost control, Interim valuations, progress payments, change orders, and final accounts
  • Manage contractual KPI’s
  • Monthly reporting and monitoring against approved budgets, cash flows and pre-approved targets

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Quantity Surveying.
  • Professional Registration (Mandatory): Professional Quantity Surveyor (PrQS) with the SACQSP or RICS.

Experience

  • Minimum 5+ years in quantity surveying within the built environment.
  • 3 to 4 years’ experience at management level

Technical Competencies:

Proficient in Dimension X, CostX, WinQS, and Microsoft Excel for measurement and cost management.

Behavioural Competencies:

  • Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other business units within Deloitte and the client.
  • Manage multiple projects and teams simultaneously.
  • Demonstrate high energy, initiative, and a willingness to learn and grow.
  • Communicate and engage effectively with stakeholders.
