Job Description

Driving end-to-end recruitment, selection, onboarding and contracting of Financial Advisers within LAP (Liberty Advisory Partners) and driving strategic talent acquisition by leveraging industry expertise and a strong understanding of market trends and in-demand skills.

Job Functions

  • Identify and attract New-to-Industry and experienced Financial Advisers.
  • Conduct the required background checks and verify regulatory history (DOFA, MIE etc.) in alignment with compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with Branch Managers and Franchise Principals to ensures workforce strategies align with business objectives.
  • Setting up and conducting Initial Selection Interviews.
  • Refer adverse background checks (E.g. Debt findings) for sign-off.
  • Support retention initiatives by maintaining positive engagement with advisers.
  • Facilitate LawTrust registration for new Financial Advisors.
  • Conduct Competency Based interviews with Branch Managers/Franchise Principals etc.
  • Adopt implemented technologies and/or systems in work done, provide feedback and recommendations for improvement on issues identified, to support an integrated hiring experience in a transforming environment.
  • Achieve quarterly and annual recruitment targets.
  • Register successful candidates for Socialization and Orientation programmes.
  • Build and maintain a long-term pipeline of Financial Advisers.
  • Manage the full contracting process for successful Financial Advisers.
  • Adhere to relevant Talent Acquisition data policies so that quality data is consistently and appropriately stored, used and managed in alignment with the POPI Act.
  • Act as a liaison between advisers and the branch leadership team where required.
  • Review and approve completed contracting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Support and participate in Career Opportunity Presentations alongside the Branch Manager or Franchise Principal.
  • Maintain confidentiality throughout recruitment discussions.
  • Create and maintain data regarding the acquisition of Financial Advisers, best practices, industry benchmarks etc. so that insights may be drawn to add value to Insurance & Asset Management and SBG's hiring agenda.
  • Complete all required staff compliance training within stipulated timeframes.
  • Adhere to the risk and governance framework to ensure that risks are appropriately mitigated.
  • Identify and utilize the most appropriate channel to source Financial Advisers, keeping in mind the talent acquisition agenda of the organization. Aim to leverage efficiencies across sourcing channels.
  • Implement predetermined sourcing strategies to build pipelines of potential applicants.
  • Keep abreast with trends in Financial Planning and Regulatory updates impacting advisors and the acquisition of advisers.
  • Manage relationships with stakeholders (Managers/ Regional Heads, Franchise Principles and candidates), in order to maintain healthy business relationships, networks and connections.
  • Promote the IAM’s value proposition to new and experienced advisers.
  • Represent IAM and SBG at conferences and Industry events.
  • Promote IAM and SBG's brand and recruitment values by assuming a brand ambassador role at recruitment initiatives and events.
  • Promote Liberty (IAM) as an employer of choice within the financial services market.
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) to educate and inform internal stakeholders on market trends, internal processes, talent data and more.
  • Provide reported feedback on the success of initiatives/deliverables and recommend improvements to enable successful hiring solutioning/execution.
  • Retain an understanding of the Talent Acquisition value chain so that advice and guidance may be provided to internal stakeholders where required.

  • Experience in recruitment, talent acquisition, or financial services distribution.
  • Experience recruiting sales professionals or financial advisers is advantageous
