This position reports to Merchandising Associate 3 

Purpose of Role

To assist in the execution of merchandising efforts and advertising campaigns across the Mr D grocery and Shops vertical.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Execute on merchandising plans with a focus on maximizing discoverability and conversion
  • Maximize the usage of the Mr D app merchandising inventory and report back on successes and learnings
  • Work closely with the Pick n Pay Merchandising and Digital Teams to ensure best practice and seasonal alignment to Pick n Pay merchandising priorities
  • Briefing campaigns to the creative team on all media required to communicate promotions and drive continuous improvement of promotional and non-promotional merchandising
  • Ensure all relevant parties, including partners approve campaign artwork as part of the sign-off process.
  • Contribute to merchandising planning sessions
  • Maintaining clear and timely communication with internal stakeholders, providing updates on campaign progress and addressing any concerns or questions
  • Schedule merchandise banners and in app real estate
  • Carrying out daily app walks to ensure that app banner placements are aligned with daily targets
  • Supporting the team with the management of the Coupon tool (campaign set up, monitoring and reporting)
  • Maintaining the store front on the app for Shops and Grocery vertical
  • Ensuring all links are relevant and working

  • Relevant tertiary qualification
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years retail, marketing and/or advertising Experience working across marketing channels – Digital, ATL, Partnerships – with demonstrable results would be beneficial experience
  • Experience in an e-commerce environment will be beneficial.
