About the team

You'll join a newly formed team using AI to automate critical work across the business — from Operational teams handling huge volumes of queries and complex reports, to Product and Engineering teams automating more of how they build. AI isn’t the only tool in your toolkit, but it plays a large part in how we create software to solve these problems, or is used as part of the solutions themselves. This is a new and exciting area for Luno, core to our strategy and success. You'll report directly to the VP of Product, who'll work closely with you while the team and its priorities are still taking shape.

The role in a nutshell:

You own the product surface for operational automation, and bring thought leadership and a product mindset to automating our build processes and pipelines. That means building genuine relationships with stakeholders across the business who are counting on you to help their teams succeed, and winning buy-in and enthusiasm from operational and build teams for change they didn't ask for.

Your mission will be:

  • Delivering against an agreed set of automation opportunities with Customer Success, Onboarding Operations, Anti-Financial Crime and other operational teams — reducing manual work, increasing quality, or reducing risk
  • Understanding the processes and systems behind each opportunity deeply enough to redesign them with a technology partner, not just automate what already exists
  • Deciding, case by case and with guidance, what should be automated versus what needs human judgement to stay ethical and compliant
  • Building the relationships with operational leaders that make each rollout successful — their teams need to trust what you ship, not just receive it

A little about you:

  • 3+ years as a Product Manager, ideally including work for internal operational or engineering users, not only external end users
  • Comfortable operating at the intersection of product and compliance, without waiting for someone else to define the problem
  • You quantify impact, risk and confidence, and use that to prioritise work
  • You've built solutions, and you've bought them, and you know how to weigh one against the other honestly
  • Experience sourcing or managing third-party vendors
  • Clear stakeholder communication — you can turn a technical or compliance decision into something an engineering team can build against
  • Experience working with engineering teams in an agile, continuous-delivery rhythm
  • Demonstrable experience with AI tools, both for building products and engineering tooling that accelerates delivery, such as Claude or Lovable, and for running AI embedded in production systems, such as LLMs summarising operational data

Life at Luno:

  • Remote but reachable work policy gives you the freedom to choose between working from home or the office.
  • Plus the option to buy and sell up to 5 days leave
  • Improve body and mind, with excellent private medical insurance
  • Access to Learnably and our additional learning platforms for your personal and professional development
  • 6 months primary caregiver leave
  • Paw-ternity leave for your furry friend
  • Annual Inspiration Day, in addition to your annual leave which increases based on your length of service!
  • A collaborative, friendly work community, with regular social events and virtual cooking, dancing, drawing and house planting classes hosted by our Lunauts
  • Free lunch and snacks
  • 0 fees up to a certain amount with Luno from the day you start.*
