This position reports to the Head of TFS Analytics.

Your responsibilities can include:

  • Building and optimising models and reports using support tools i.e. Looker, Looker Studio, Dataform, Branch Dashboards, Weekly reports to inform operational decisions and drive improvement.
  • Creating reports with focus areas for business improvement.
  • Building dashboards to be used by the business for exception management.
  • Identifying important variables and focus areas in the business.
  • Analysing data to answer strategic and operational questions posed by the business.
  • Automating data extraction and report update processes.
  • Provide information to various stakeholders.
  • Data Validation and integrity testing.
  • Data Cleansing and data modelling.
  • Provide information to various stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with TFS managers and Franchise Managers to establish project plans while accounting for the trade-offs between operational practicality and overall performance.
  • Provide significant support to TFS according to weekly goals and targeted metrics.
  • Use weekly and monthly targets to manage day-to-day performance and inform operations for best impact.
  • Regularly review and analyse key metrics in operations to identify root causes and formulate solutions to improve performance.
  • Managing customer, branch, driver, and courier feedback into continuous performance improvement processes.

Technical Skills and Tools:

  • Have worked with Automation and ETL software.
  • Strong experience in building and optimising SQL scripts.
  • Have a strong understanding of BI fundamentals.
  • Implement version control using GIT.
  • Implement continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Write technical documentation for APIs and libraries.
  • Implement analytics and tracking features in applications.
  • Design and implement database schemas.
  • Optimize database queries and indexes for performance where needed.
  • Implement error handling and logging mechanisms.
  • Estimate story points and task durations for sprint planning.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Engineering, Information Systems, BCom Computer Science or similar degree and 3 years experience in a BI, Data, Engineering role within a fast-paced, product-led, and growth-focused organisation, playing a key role in data gathering, data analysis and helping the team make data based decisions.
  • In the event the candidate does not have a Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Engineering, Information Systems, BCom Computer Science or similar then a relevant Higher Certificate and 6 years relevant experience in a BI, Data, Engineering role within a fast-paced, product-led, and growth-focused organisation, playing a key role in data gathering, data analysis and helping the team make data based decisions.
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL, ETL pipelines, Google BigQuery, AWS, Looker Studio, and Python.
  • Automation - Cron Scheduling (Custom or 3rd party software scheduling).
  • High level of proficiency with MS Office packages with proven advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets, Docs & Slides.
  • Experience with large datasets and optimisation on digital platforms.
  • Retail or e-commerce and Supply Chain industry experience is beneficial.
